Dear Friends & Family,
This Christmas season, we have much to be thankful for. While 2020 has been a year like no other, we have experienced God’s grace and unmerited favor. I am proud to serve with a faculty and staff that has shown grit, resilience and creativity through the challenges posed by the pandemic. With hard work over the summer, we opened the year and have been able to continue with high quality in person instruction. While there have been changes in how we deliver the program, students participated in a wonderful Fall Mountain Retreat, a hallmark of a JRHS educational experience. We had one of our most successful Humanities Faires with three days of wonderful weather providing unique opportunities for the students to showcase their hard work. I can also report that we persevered with fall sports as the JRHS soccer team competed well this year.
We would not choose the difficulties associated with COVID-19, yet we are seeing how God is using them to challenge us as we strive to develop genuine Christian community, model and teach the aspiration towards excellence, and prepare JRHS students to be Kingdom influencing leaders. Our outstanding Faculty is serving the Lord with their efforts to produce God-honoring outcomes in the lives of the students. Those outcomes, which can have eternal consequences, are worthy of support.
JRHS relies on the generosity of our Financial Partners to keep our school strong and growing. With gifts this fiscal year to date, the remaining Annual Fund need is $85,000, and our prayer is that some of this can be met during this giving season. While our confidence is in God to provide, we know that He works through his people. As 2020 comes to a close, I ask you to prayerfully consider investing in the future by making a year-end gift to Jesse Remington High School. As you invest in JRHS, you will be partnering with us in the education and development of the young people God has placed in our school. Gifts from supporters like you are a blessing and have enhanced our ability to disciple and educate young people as they learn and grow as leaders for Christ, the future leaders in our families, churches and communities.
From all of us at JRHS, we thank you for your prayers and your generous support.
Jeffrey C. Philbrick, Headmaster
