Senior Feature: Melody Song

Melody Song is an International Student from South Korea and has been attending Jesse Remington ever since her freshman year.  Her Korean name is YooJeong, and upon coming to America, it is our custom to give an English name to the students, and YooJeong has surely lived up to her JRHS given name, "Melody". She has been a lovely melody in so many ways! Throughout her time here, she has greatly valued the variety of classes and projects with her favorite class being Anatomy with Mrs. Trudeau. She has been at the head of several projects, such as the Humanities Faire presentations, when she cast prominent roles. Melody was a tremendous asset to our Marketing & Videography class. She helped produce some of our best videos ever, and has been a great leader and mentor to the younger students. Her English ability, both spoken and written, has developed ten-fold, now to the point of complete fluency. We will always remember her tenacity on the soccer field and basketball court, where here passion and loyalty went to work for the Sentinels.

Melody has been accepted to Liberty University for nursing, but will defer for one year while she spends a year in South Korea.  After she graduates from college, her goal is to become a military nurse in South Korea. As she looks at all of the possibilities and decisions ahead of her, Melody finds direction and peace in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which exhorts, “ Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  Part of her joy and completion these last days of her career with us has been to share her high school experience with her parents and younger brother Kevin. The family has enjoyed and celebrated the year end events such as the Banquet, Retreat, Awards and Graduation.
