About Kathy Carlson

Kathy Carlson is the Director of Admissions and her main responsibilities include promoting the school and guiding families through the admissions process. She has a long career in sales and marketing, starting in 1992 after graduating from college. Most of her experience has been in marketing within the medical device industry. She holds an MBA and a Master of International Management. Kathy and her husband, Carl, are both originally from Cleveland, Ohio (Go Browns!). They met at Miami University in Ohio and started dating a few years after graduating. They got married in 1998 and soon after, they embarked on an exciting journey that brought them to New Hampshire. In 2001, they both became Christians and have been members of Amoskeag Presbyterian Church. They have been blessed with four children: Sam, who graduated from JRHS in 2022, Tim, who will graduate in 2024, Andrew,(26), and Elizabeth (2028). Kathy and Carl have also had the privilege of hosting two international students, Austin from South Korea and Steven from China, who have brought joy to their household. In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, learning, playing games, cooking, gardening, making jewelry, and playing the guitar. She is a devoted reader of the Bible and strives to find time for other books as well. As the Director of Admissions, Kathy's main goals are to grow the student body, establish strong relationships with local churches, and provide support to JRHS students and the community. One interesting fact about Kathy is that she earned her black belt in Uechi Ryu karate when she was six months pregnant with her son, Sam.
