My senior capstone project is a compilation of research, analysis and application of science, historical traditions, and Biblical worldview. There will be three parts or attributes of my project: first, the science behind growing and feeding an ox, second, growing in skills of applying that knowledge properly to training a team, and third, biblical application and analysis of stewardship and the allegorical value of oxen. College and Career 9: Prayer Chain Activity
By Ellie Hyvonen, In College and Career 9, throughout this semester, students have been building a prayer chain. Every Friday they write new prayer requests and read the last week‘s prayers. When God answers the prayer, in whatever way He does, they staple it onto the chain! Here is the last day with these kids showing the faithfulness of God through their chain. Lamentations 3:23 rings clear, which says, “Great is your faithfulness oh Lord, your mercies are new every mornin

Senior Capstone Project: Original Children’s Storybook by Meredith Higgins
For my senior capstone project, I created an original children’s storybook titled Benny Bear and the Broken Branch, fully written and illustrated by hand with watercolor artwork. This project allowed me to grow in both writing and painting, fulfilling my childhood desire to craft a story of my own. I centered the book on Biblical themes of forgiveness, compassion, and reconciliation, weaving them into a narrative that points children toward Christ. Explore my work here:...

Spring 2026 All-Day Hike: Adventure mode unlocked
Many Students and teachers from Jesse Remington spent the day exploring Pack Monadnock in Miller State Park, hiking the scenic Wapack Trail while enjoying plenty of laughter and fellowship along the way. The group kept their eyes peeled for soaring raptors overhead, but the wildlife highlight turned out to be a large snake sunning itself near the summit. At the top, students explored the fire tower area and took in views stretching all the way to the Boston skyline. They wer

Senior Capstone Project: Rebuilding a Broken Instrument by Nolan Jeanes
I have always had a deep love and appreciation for music. Because I find it interesting to understand every instrument I get my hands on, I fixed a broken synthesizer by rebuilding it. Through this process, I was able to learn the tiny details and mechanics of the synth and find new ways to use it. Rainy Day Golf: JRHS Outdoor Ed Elective Takes it Indoors at Golf X
By Jeff Philbrick, Headmaster The Spring Golf Outdoor Education elective ended last week with a rewarding outing at Golf X in Bedford. The students have been training in April and May at the Candia Woods practice facility, and the plan was to enjoy 9 Holes at the Labelle Winery Par 3 course in Derry. Well, a cold and rainy day caused us to make a quick pivot, but one surely to please. The students enjoyed 9 holes at "Pebble Beach" Club on the simulators at Golf X. The student

Project Based Learning: 3-D CAD Design and Printing
In 3-D CAD Design and Printing, students delight in transforming their ideas from digital concepts into tangible creations. Senior Andrew Carlson is designing a working model elevator powered by gears and a hand crank that raises and lowers the lift. What began as a straightforward idea has proven to be a far more complex engineering challenge, requiring patience, creativity, and problem-solving. Sophomore Tulip, inspired by the mission trip to Washington, D.C. in April, desi

Mission Trips Testimony Night
By Kathy Carlson, Director of Admissions Wednesday night began with our Sentinel Slices Café, where the aroma of fresh, hot pizza and crisp salad welcomed families, faculty, and staff into a time of relaxed conversation and community. It was a warm and fitting start, setting the table—both literally and figuratively—for an evening centered on connection and shared experience before the mission trip testimonies began. The evening then unfolded into a truly meaningful time of s

SENIOR PERSPECTIVE: Andrew Shares About Outdoor Education
Outdoor Education (OE) holds some of my favorite memories of my time at Jesse, in particular the three hikes each year. They present a unique opportunity to spend hours with peers who could be close friends or new freshmen you have not yet gotten to know. When you are on a mountain, there is not much to do besides talk, so you get to know those in your group pretty well. For the springtime hike, there is an option to do an overnight hike that is more difficult, which I decide

Freshmen Reflect on Growth and Grit

In this moment, Nathan Hodges explains how author Angela Duckworth defines grit and reflects on how his own “grit score” shows the growth he has experienced as a student this year. I am incredibly proud of our freshmen for the thoughtfulness they brought to these presentations and for their honest reflections on their f

El Salvador Mission Trip - Monday, April 13
By Jeff Philbrick, Headmaster It was another beautiful and sunny day in El Salvador with temperatures well into the 90s. We split into two groups today, one group returning to the Casa Manna building project and the other group experiencing the oasis ministry on the island, Casada. The smaller building team consisted of Faith, Ethan, Tim, Andrew, Josh, and Nolan. The objective was to move the building project as far forward as we could on this last day. And wow, did we deliv

El Salvador Mission Trip - Sunday April 12
By Jeff Philbrick, Headmaster The highlight of today was our international church experience. We joined our friends at Iglesia Argentina for their regular Sunday service, stepping into a beautiful expression of the global Church. For some, this may feel familiar—but for others, it was something entirely new: a bilingual gathering where cultures came together for a few sacred hours to pray, study Scripture, and share in fellowship. Even without a shared spoken language, the u

Washington DC Mission Trip - Day 6
By Susan Sicard, Faculty On Saturday, we split into two groups. Eight students went to the Museum of the Bible where we saw wonderful exhibits about ancient Canaan, Israel in Christ’s day, and how we got the Bible of today. We were also able to see a special exhibit about the Dead Sea Scrolls. We saw manuscripts from the first century that confirmed the truthfulness of the Bibles we use in class every day. After leaving, we had the opportunity to listen to and share the Gospe
