JRHS Tech Challenge 2026

By Ellie Hyvonen

Our annual Tech Challenge begins today! We encourage students to consider how they steward their use of technology, utilizing resources from Justin Earley's Hang Ten Movement. The aim is to impart a set of ten technology practices for Christian communities that want to receive the gifts of technology while resisting its evils. Today, Miss Ellie and Mr. Philbrick led a special assembly to usher in this year’s challenge: each JRHS student will choose one of the ten commitments to put into practice. Miss Ellie will provide deeper insight into this very relevant issue of technology addiction in teenagers, drawing from The Coddling of the American Mind by Greg Lukianoff and The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. We are very excited to guide our students toward wisdom in their use of technology, and we invite you to join us in this challenge at home as well.
