JRHS Welcomes Senora Nancy Cataño to teach Spanish

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to the JRHS Faculty Team - Senora Nancy Cataño. Nancy came to us via the recommendation of Bob and Linda Krewson, who are Financial Partners at JRHS, and Linda is our wonderful Stained Glass teacher.

Nancy was Born in Cali, Colombia, South America, and is a first-generation immigrant along with mother, father and 5 siblings. She was the first in her family to graduate from college, Keene State Teacher’s College. In 1992 Nancy was awarded a Fellowship to study at the University of Salamanca, Spain. Her education capstone was in 2015, earning her Master’s degree in Spanish. During these busy years, Nancy raised 4 children as a single parent and all 4 are also college graduates. Now, Nancy’s joy is loving and caring for the grandchildren!

Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to JRHS, for which we are so blessed. She has taught all levels of Spanish from elementary to advanced for over 30 years. Her more recent posts include the Derryfield School and Alvirine High School, from whence she recently retired. Senora Cataño accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior while in high school and was raised by parents who taught her to love Him by the witness of their lives. When asked why she is joining the faculty at JRHS, she said, “I love teaching my language and the richness of its culture. I am looking forward to enriching the lives of those who choose Spanish as a course of study.”
