Josilyn Flynn from Sandown began attending JRHS for her final year of high school. Josilyn remembers the great memories made on the mission trip to Hungary and creating good friendships with different students throughout the year. Josilyn has been influenced the most by Bible class. As the class focused on each book of the Bible, the class was able to ask deeper questions and go in-depth on God and his creation. Mr. Hannan facilitates rich class discussion on topics and then he explains his opinion on the topic from a biblical perspective. The class has helped her grow in her curiosity to know more about God’s word and have a better understanding of it. She fondly remembers the mission trip to Hungary because that is where she was able to form bonds with people she did not usually talk to, and she was able to meet other Christians from across the ocean who worship in a very similar way as us. Josilyn (along with Erin and Esther) got to be a part of the worship team for the youth event and Josilyn remarked that “It was so cool that we could sing in English the same song that they were singing in Hungarian.” Josilyn views the class of 2023 as a very welcoming, fun, and hardworking group of people. She hasn’t known the class as long as others, but they made her feel accepted and helped her come out of her shell. They are good at getting things done even if there is a ton of work to do and keep bright spirits as much as possible. A guiding scripture verse that Josilyn takes to heart is Romans 8: 38-39. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” After she graduates, Josilyn plans to work in the dental field and either be a dental laboratory technician or a dental hygienist.
