What a full and encouraging day for the Hungary team today! We started the day at the local high school, Petőfi Sándor Evangélikus Gimnázium és Szakgimnázium in Kiskoros. There we joined physics, PE and English classes. Students gave a presentation on JRHS and what high school is like in the US. Hungarian students asked great questions about maple sugaring and were shocked to hear about more American outdoor education activities like shooting.

Afterwards we returned to the town of Kalocsa where we had our cultural night on Monday with the local church plant. First we toured a museum on local religion and an ornate cathedral. However, the purpose of returning to the town was to participate in an evangelism night with the church plant. All students sang hymns for the crowd that gathered. Emma along with two local Hungarian students sang a popular Hungarian hymn called, Akinek elgondoltál. A beautiful hymn praising Christ for freeing His people from the slavery of sin through His work on the cross. The closing verse translated says, “With you it is possible. Not by my own strength, nor by my power, only by your Spirit!” Dylan read from John 3:16 and the ww heard testimonies from Christy and Emmi. Then Mr Hannan gave a moving message proclaiming the Gospel boldly and our need for Christ alone for salvation.

Afterwards there was much conversation including with a lovely local 7th grader named Lili who had also come to the Monday night activity as well. In addition to talking about baking, rowing and dogs she expressed to Mrs. Rairdon and Mrs Hannan that the message was not something she had heard and she felt her heart stirred. Praise God! Nimrod provided her with information on their local youth group and church and the evening ended in hugs and promises to pray for each other! What a blessing to see God working! We pray that God was glorified in our serving His church and we were blessed in serving our Hungarian neighbors.
