About Nancy Cataño
Nancy Cataño is an experienced native Spanish teacher who has been teaching Spanish I and II. She will be completing three years at Jesse in June of ‘25. With over 30 years of teaching experience in various educational settings such as public schools, catholic schools, and private secular schools, Nancy has taught a wide range of courses including beginner to advanced placement courses in grammar and literature, as well as conversational courses in adult education programs. Nancy holds a Masters Degree in Spanish. She was also selected as the representative for the State of NH by The Spanish Embassy to study at the University of Salamanca for a summer. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Nancy is also a small group leader and a Colson Fellow In Training. She will be commissioned in June of 2025.
Outside of her professional life, Nancy has four adult children and six grandchildren. She enjoys various activities such as walking, reading, spending time with family, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and visiting new places. She finds inspiration from books like Packer's “Knowing God”, Glenn Sunshine’s “Why You Think The Way You Do”, Charles Colson’s “How Now Shall We Live?” and “A Practical Guide to Culture” by John Stonestreet and Brett Kunkle.
Nancy's goal as a teacher is to have a positive and holy influence on all students who come across her path. Fun fact about Nancy, she ran competitively for 10 years, with her best time being in the Bonne Belle mini-marathon where she averaged a 6.5-minute mile.
