Jesse 8 Program

Provides eighth grade homeschooled students access to age-appropriate project classes and Outdoor Education activities to supplement their at-home programs.

  • Project-Based Learning is a cornerstone of a Jesse Remington High School education. This hands-on approach equips students with real-world, durable skills that enrich both their schooling and their lives beyond the classroom. Experience classes in art, drama and public speaking, strategizing, building, and exploring. Students take five projects classes each year. The Humanities Faire is our first quarter project, involving all students, and requires historical research, working in teams, script-writing, set-building, costume creating, public speaking, time management, and much more. The following three quarters and January term allow students to choose from various project options. Jesse 8 students have a more limited, age-appropriate list.

  • Outdoor Education activities, including two all-day hikes, encourage students to build new skills, face challenges, and have fun as they develop a lifelong appreciation for physical pursuits—and even begin to master them. Some activities, such as skiing and equestrian, include additional charges.

To participate, students must apply and enroll in our part-time program. Contact Kathy Carlson at kcarlson@jrhs.org or (603) 483-5664 to learn more or begin the admissions process.
