Every spring at Jesse Remington High School, the stage comes alive as students present a lively and memorable performance. This year, eight students—including two from our Jesse 8 program—are bringing to life The Surprise by G. K. Chesterton.

Under the guidance of Mr. Ouellette and Miss Ellie, rehearsals are in full swing each Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Students are working diligently on blocking, refining their delivery, and polishing their lines—already reaching an impressive 80% memorization. Energy is building with the addition of choreographed sword fights, upcoming costumes, and a growing confidence as each student settles into character, whether portraying the poet, the princess, the king, or the friar.
The production is scheduled for the third weekend of May, with performances on May 15 and 16 at 7:00 PM. Anticipation is high, and this year’s show promises to be both entertaining and heartfelt.
When asked about their experience, students summed it up best: “I get to be wacky!” “I get to fight with swords!” “I love my new friends!”

It’s shaping up to be a joyful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the vibrant spirit of JRHS!
