Starting the Year Right: Building a Community for Generations

How do you start a school year right?
With a fresh schedule, a sharpened pencil, and a new backpack? Those things certainly help. But at Jesse Remington High School, we believe a strong start begins with something much more important: relationships.
That was the heart of our 2026 Convocation as we gathered students, families, faculty, staff, and friends to launch our 35th school year. Our theme verse for this anniversary year comes from Psalm 145:4: “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
As our Headmaster reminded us that evening, Jesse Remington exists today because people before us were willing to pray, serve, sacrifice, give, and invest in the lives of young people. We are the recipients of that faithfulness. And now, it is our turn to build faithfully for the generations who will come after us.
One of the most meaningful parts of Convocation was also one of the simplest. Families received a JRHS Family Passport and were invited to visit ten different tables throughout the evening. But the goal wasn't simply to collect stamps. Each table was designed to create a conversation, meet someone new, learn something about JRHS, share something about their student, and begin building connections.
A school becomes a community when people know one another, care about one another, and find ways to invest in one another.
That kind of community doesn't happen by accident. It is built one conversation, one classroom, one project, one shared meal, one act of service, and one student at a time.
As we begin our 35th year, we are especially grateful for the many people who have invested in Jesse Remington over the years. Some have given financially. Others have given their time, talents, prayers, encouragement, or years of service. Every contribution has helped create the community our students experience today.
Now we have the privilege of doing the same for the next generation. We are excited about what God has ahead for Jesse Remington.
Thank you for being part of the story, for investing in this community, and for helping us build something that will bless generations still to come.
35 Years. One Community. Generations of Impact.
