Last night, students in the Entrepreneurship Program took an exciting step beyond the classroom and into the world of professional networking at the program’s first annual Networking Mixer! Hosted at EFX Fitness in Manchester, the evening brought together students and adults representing a wide variety of careers, industries, and professional backgrounds. The event was a tremendous success, giving students a unique opportunity to connect with experienced professionals, hear their stories, and begin building relationships that can shape their futures.

At the heart of the evening was a powerful lesson: relationships matter, and many of life's greatest opportunities come through the people we meet. Students had the opportunity to practice professional communication, introduce themselves, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in meaningful conversations with adults from fields including business, entrepreneurship, finance, healthcare, engineering, construction, law, real estate, education, and many others.  What resulted was real-world experiences that challenged students to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and discover the many possibilities available to them.

The evening also featured an engaging panel discussion where professionals shared honest insights about their career journeys, lessons learned along the way, navigating challenges, balancing work and personal life, and living a Christian testimony in the marketplace. Students gained something that simply cannot be replicated in a textbook: the wisdom and personal experiences of people who have walked these paths themselves. They were reminded that success is not always a straight line, that mistakes can become stepping stones to growth, and that effective communication and genuine relationships are skills worth developing for a lifetime.

This first annual Networking Mixer brought the Entrepreneurship Program's core principles to life: cultivating a growth mindset, developing grit, learning to fail forward, and recognizing opportunities where others may see obstacles. We are incredibly grateful to the many professionals who generously gave their time, shared their experiences, and invested in the next generation. Most importantly, our students walked away with more than new contacts—they gained confidence, perspective, inspiration, and a clearer understanding of the value of building relationships. This is what entrepreneurial education is all about: preparing students not just for their first job, but for a lifetime of opportunity.
