Senior Feature: Silas Jeanes

Silas Jeanes of Candia is a four year student at Jesse Remington. Silas recalls how one of the most enjoyable project classes he completed was timber frame. It allowed him to collaborate with different teams, develop new skills while building with his hands and he truly developed a joy for timber framing.

Another memorable experience was hiking Mt. Washington, something he had been wanting to do for a long time. Not only did he get to fulfill this personal goal, but he also formed new friendships along the way. Silas remembers how the hike pushed him to new limits and helped him grow as an individual.

Silas would say his class is diverse. Despite having vastly different personalities, they have learned to work together and support one another. What was once a chaotic and diverse group has now transformed into a united class, characterized by their unity.

As for his plans after graduation, Silas is excited to attend Gordon College in Wenham, MA, where he will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He is eager to further his knowledge in this field and embark on a career that aligns with his interests and aspirations.

One scripture verse that has resonated with Silas is Matthew 6:34, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Which helps remind him to focus on the present and not let the uncertainties of the future consume him. Each day brings its own challenges, and it's important to tackle them one step at a time.
