Celebrating Alumni, 1/9/2026

By Kathy Carlson, Director of Admissions

Another joyful Alumni Day was enjoyed today! The morning began with chapel led by Will Deacon (Class of 2014) and Bess Deacon (Class of 2021). They guided the student body and about twenty alumni through several passages of Scripture and invited thoughtful questions and discussion.

They reflected on:

  • Hebrews 4:15–16, reminding us that Christ understands our weaknesses and invites us to approach the throne of grace with confidence.

  • Psalm 46:1, proclaiming God as our refuge, strength, and ever-present help in times of trouble.

  • Matthew 7:7, encouraging us to ask, seek, and knock with faith.

  • John 5:24, affirming the promise of eternal life for those who hear and believe.

The session concluded with a message centered on Philippians 1:6, a reassuring reminder that God, who began a good work in us, will be faithful to complete it. It was an edifying and encouraging chapel, and we are grateful for Will and Bess’s time, preparation, and heart for the students.

After chapel, we shared a delicious lunch of tacos and Sentinel Slices pizza, enjoying time to talk, laugh, and catch up. The afternoon wrapped up at the CYAA with games of volleyball and pickleball. It truly was a wonderful day all around!
