Congratulations to Davis Palmer ('22)--our JRHS National Merit Scholarship Program finalist!

Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Program honors talented U.S. high school students for academic excellence. Approximately 1.5 million students from 22,000 high schools across the country enter the program.

Davis Palmer, the son of Amherst resident Nancy Palmer,is selected from approximately 16,000 Semifinalists. Davis met the criteria by achieving a high score on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), maintaining a 4.0 academic record, participating in school and community activities which include several mission trips, demonstrating leadership abilities, receiving many school honors and awards, writing an essay and being recommended by school officials. Davis plans on pursuing a degree in civil engineering, geomatics, or environmental engineering.

The selection of some 7,500 Merit Scholarship recipients from the group of finalists is now in progress and the names will be released beginning in April and ending in July.

Congratulations and good luck Davis!
