This was our third day serving with the Little Lights Ministry. Our day began hearing from one of the center leaders about their life experience with the ministry. She has been involved with Little Lights since she was seven years old. Her testimony is an example of the faithfulness of Mr. Steve and Ms. Mary, founders of Little Lights, over the past 30 years.
Our team was able to assist with a deep clean of the Hopkins Center before the afternoon Homework club began. All teams had a special time serving today. Many students were able to be involved with tutoring, while others cared for children during Chill Time.
Once home, the group talked about lasting lessons they will take away from this experience. Here are a few summaries of their thoughts:
Increased compassion for others
Awareness that there are hurting people all around us
We should be more mindful and bold to share Jesus in our conversations
Having less technology time has been good for us
Seeing that God was faithful when we stepped out of our comfort zone to try new things
