It was another beautiful and sunny day in El Salvador with temperatures well into the 90s. We split into two groups today, one group returning to the Casa Manna building project and the other group experiencing the oasis ministry on the island, Casada.

The smaller building team consisted of Faith, Ethan, Tim, Andrew, Josh, and Nolan. The objective was to move the building project as far forward as we could on this last day. And wow, did we deliver! Mr. Burgher and helpers almost finished the stairs, which was basically a day of welding. Mr. Philbrick and crew finished the roof panels, and then went right onto the cement board siding. When you hear “cement board,” you are probably thinking they were heavy: you are correct! Another important part of our day was hanging out with the children and bringing blessing and relationship to them. We want to thank everyone who donated to the building fund, and we are so pleased with how our talent and our treasure has advanced the ministry of the church and the school.

The larger group loaded up the van and took a ride to the dock in order to catch the boat and go to the island. They brought the balance of our donated items, such as clothing, medical supplies, art, and school supplies, and footwear. Miss Ellie, Mr. Martinez, and Señorita led this group. A team consisted of Meredith, Emma, Emmi, Ben, Dylan, Mathias, and Josiah. The team visited two schools and delivered Bible lessons, art projects, and English language lessons, and they played soccer. The first school consisted of seventy kids and was a haven dedicated for the malnourished. The second school also served as a clinic and taught kids the basics but also many entrepreneurial skills through a very familiar pizza business!
