Family Story: The Landry Family

What do you love about Jesse Remington High School and why?

What do I love about Jesse? There are many things. What I love most is our Christ-centered community. He is at the heart of all we do, and students don't shy away from the challenges in their academics, their faith, or hiking a 4,000 footer. With the support of their teachers and community, students are strengthened and encouraged to live on-mission.

Why did you choose Jesse Remington High School for your child(ren)?

It's a Christian school with challenging academics and a tremendous outdoor education program.

What expected and unexpected growth have you seen in your JRHS students?

Leadership development, my daughter has always been shy and on the quiet side at Jesse. She began standing before her peers and leading them in scripture reading weekly during Chapel.

In what ways have you seen your children grow in their faith as a result of their experiences at Jesse Remington High School?

My daughter's faith has become her own. Her time here at Jesse has allowed her to safely ask challenging questions about Scripture, and she has had the opportunity to put her faith into action within their daily academic schedule, sports, in friendship, and during mission trips. Today she is setting personal faith goals outside of academic expectations.

What is the one word your family would use to describe the JRHS experience?

Spirit-lead

What would you tell other parents to encourage them to consider enrolling their children at JRHS?

Jesse is a community led by the Holy Spirit educating and nurturing, challenging their students to step into the gifts and strengths the Lord has anointed them with.
