More Than Lunchtime: Christian Fellowship at JRHS

At Jesse Remington High School, some of the most meaningful moments of community happen at lunchtime.

There is nothing particularly remarkable about lunch at first glance. But look a little closer, and you see something more. You see students from different grades sitting together. You see friendships growing. You hear conversations that range from the ordinary to the significant. You see students making room for one another, encouraging one another, and simply enjoying being together.

This is what we mean when we talk about a Vibrant Christian Community at JRHS.

Our hope is not simply to provide students with a Christian education, but to cultivate a community where students experience what it means to follow Christ alongside one another. Faith is part of the rhythm of our school day, from devotions and prayer to Chapel, Bible study, service, and the many informal conversations that happen throughout the day.

And sometimes, that fellowship looks wonderfully ordinary. It looks like sharing a table. Laughing together. Inviting someone new to join the group. Playing in the yard. Sitting on Eisley’s rock, chatting. It looks like friendships that cross grade levels and continue beyond the classroom.

These everyday moments matter. They create a sense of belonging and remind our students that they are part of something larger than themselves.

At JRHS, we believe that learning happens best in the context of relationships. Students are challenged academically, encouraged spiritually, and given opportunities to grow in character as they learn to serve and care for others.

So while lunchtime at JRHS is simple, it’s also a glimpse of the kind of community we treasure at Jesse Remington High School: a community where students learn together, worship together, serve together, and, quite often, simply enjoy being together.
