Summer Work Day at JRHS

Every summer, we set aside time for campus maintenance and improvement projects that help keep JRHS looking its best. This year's Summer Work Day featured three major projects: sealing the driveway, preparing the Solarium subfloor for new flooring, and removing the old well-head next to the Apartment before bricking it over and widening the walkway.

Jeff Philbrick, Jon Stanley, and Emma Cross took on the Solarium project, replacing sections of the subfloor and installing additional insulation in preparation for the new flooring.

Mason Owens, equipped with a jackhammer and plenty of ear protection, broke apart the old well-head while Dan Burgher operated the earth mover. Nolan Jeanes joined the effort to help build the new section of walkway.

Meanwhile, a hardworking and delightfully messy crew consisting of Denis Shulga, Valeria Shulga, Eli Chapman, Elizabeth Carlson, and Nathan Hodges tackled the driveway, applying a fresh protective coating to keep it in great shape for years to come.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy. Your willingness to serve helps make JRHS a better place for our students and community!
