Senior Nolan Jeanes Interviewed Señorita Nancy Cataño to Learn About Her Life in Christian Education

“I truly believe that each one of us has been called to this particular time and place. Although I was born in Colombia, I consider the United States my country, because it is here that I have invested my resources. Coming to Jesse Remington High School after nine months of retirement is the icing on the cake, with a cherry on top. I sometimes wonder why the Lord did not call me here sooner, but I try not to waste time and concentrate on being here now.”
“This past year, thanks to our school board, I was able to enroll in the Colson Fellows Biblical Worldview ten-month course. The course gave me a clear understanding of worldviews, thereby deeply impacting my own biblical worldview. The Colson Fellows course last year opened my eyes to how critical a Christian education is. I was led to it because of the deficiency I felt in my everyday teaching of Spanish.”
“The Lord clearly pointed out to me that I needed to incorporate a biblical worldview while teaching Spanish. As a classroom teacher in a Christian school, I finally understood that somehow I needed to present Creation, the Fall, Redemption, and Restoration to my students so that they could be strong in their own personal biblical worldview. This is, in essence, the importance of a Christian education.”
“Having taught in the public school for 30+ years, I have a very clear picture of the difference between public and private Christian education.”

“The gospel isn't a formula you apply to your life; it's the Story you're meant to inhabit.”
