Washington DC Mission Trip - April 10

Our team had a lovely day exploring Washington DC today. It was full of special moments.

We took the metro to the National Archives and then walked to the Washington Monument. From there we headed to the Holocaust Museum. This was a very somber experience for all. As hard as it was for everyone it was also very valuable to remember and learn about what happened not all that long ago.  Part of the museum experience is each person who enters is given a passport of a person who experienced the Holocaust and as you progress through the museum you learn what happens to them.

After the museum we broke into groups and explored several of the Smithsonian Museums. The Air and Space along with the Art Museum were a popular choice today. It was wonderful to see students engaged and enjoying the opportunity before them; exploring and learning all they could.
