Project Based Learning: From Inspiration to Creation - Audio Engineering

Writer: Jeff PhilbrickJeff Philbrick

By Josiah Lewis, Class of 2026

Audio Engineering was an exciting opportunity for me to learn more about the process of

creating podcasts and music by using a digital audio workstation along with audio equipment. The most enjoyable part of this project class was the creative aspect and the limitless bounds of song creation. I learned how to use a Digital Audio Workstation, also called a DAW, which is software that allowed me to record, edit, and produce audio. I uploaded my own instrument recordings and then used the software to create a finished product. This project class influenced me in many key ways. I now understand the essentials of making music and this inspired me to learn how to make my own complete songs. This class opened the world of creating music to me and enabled me to use my musical skills to create songs.
