Mackenzie has found both academic and personal growth throughout her four years at Jesse Remington High School. One of the most impactful classes for her was Chemistry, which she described as a turning point. “It pushed me to work harder in my learning and taught me to enjoy my education even when it was difficult,” she shared. The experience confirmed her passion for teaching and inspired her to help others develop a love for learning.
Her senior year Mission trip to Philadelphia also played a key role in her development. It challenged her to step into leadership and apply the skills she had built over the past four years.
Reflecting on her class, she values how they have grown together. “We’ve faced different challenges, but over time we’ve learned how to work as a team and build a strong community,” she said.
A meaningful Bible verse for her is Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation…” This verse inspires her to live boldly in her faith.
She will attend Gordon College to study Early Childhood and Special Education, and is excited to continue rowing on the college’s crew team.
